Alto High Speed Rail Project Survey

The Alto high speed rail project is a federally led project aimed at building a high‑speed electric rail network connecting Toronto and

Québec City, including stops in Peterborough, Ottawa, Laval, Montréal, and Trois-Rivières.

There will be no stops in our community.

Currently the estimated project cost is between $60 billion and $90 billion.

No exact route has been determined yet, but there are currently two proposed corridors for the section of rail line between Peterborough and Ottawa, as seen in the map above.
